Salford Labour Working for a better, fairer Salford
To mark Armed Forces Day, Salford City Council & Labour Group hosted a vibrant community Armed Forces Day parade and family fun day on 28th June 2025. The Armed Forces Parade traveled from Dukes Drive Car Park, off Parrin Lane, Monton, Eccles, and concluded at Winton Park, Dover Street, Eccles.
Following the parade, attendees enjoyed a fantastic afternoon filled with a wide range of family-friendly activities and entertainment. The park buzzed with excitement as children delighted in ride attractions, face painting, and a challenging climbing wall. The WI provided refreshments, adding a cozy community feel to the event. On stage, entertainment ran from 11 am, featuring children’s entertainers such as Louby Lou the clown, Magic Philip the magician, and the musical group Dominique and the Flat Cap 3 singers.
The day was a tremendous success, with hundreds of local residents coming together to celebrate and show their support for the Armed Forces. The atmosphere was lively and warm, making it a memorable occasion for families and community members alike. Organizers praised the smooth running of the event and the strong turnout, highlighting it as one of the best Armed Forces Day celebrations Salford has seen in recent years.
