Salford Labour Working for a better, fairer Salford
After the tragic passing of Councillor Ray Walker, a by-election has been called for Blackfriars and Trinity on Thursday the 4th of November.
We are delighted to announce that Roseanna Wain will be Labour’s fantastic candidate for the election.
"I'm passionate about making our community an even better place to live, work and enjoy. I'm so proud to have the opportunity to represent the people of Blackfriars and Trinity." Roseanna Wain - Blackfriars & Trinity Candidate
“My name is Roseanna Wain and I hope to be your new Labour Councillor for Blackfriars and Trinity.
As you may know, due to the recent passing of your dedicated and proud Blackfriars and Trinity Councillor, Ray Walker, we now face a local council by-election on Thursday 4th November.
The Conservative government continues to squeeze funding of local government, and I would be honoured to continue the work of Cllr Walker, to represent this community and to guarantee you a strong voice on the council for Blackfriars and Trinity.
Here in Salford we are a growing city, and nowhere knows that like Blackfriars and Trinity. On the border with Manchester, and surrounded by Salford’s amazing history, it truly is a great place to live and work. This is why the needs of residents must always be prioritised over the profits of developers, to ensure the best infrastructure and services are available to residents.
I share your concerns about the climate crisis, the lack of greenspace, access to good services, the needs for investment in parks and children’s play facilities, as well as holding private and social housing landlords to account, and I will fight with you to address these concerns.
I hope to speak to as many residents as possible before the election. If you have any local issues or concerns please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
